I've been collecting a little klt:vintage fabric stash for a while now with plans for a vintage klt:collection. Most of these great finds were purchased from Jenny at Frecklewonder (you should go stop by if you haven't before- she has a great eye). I thought I would combine these nostalgic textiles with some vintage Mc Call's images for fun.
I can't wait to start making things for the shop. While I'm not exactly sure what designs will surface, I can almost bet that they will look great in this house! Happy Fabric Friday! To be continued...
One of my favorite local bookstores (Village Books in Bellingham, WA) sends you a postcard on your birthday that gives you the percentage of how old you are, off of a purchase. I have been getting these in the mail since I was in high school and always save mine for a special or unique book. Of course now my discount is bigger than it used to be - but next year I will reach the limit. Chris and I recently had a "date night" and after dinner out, spent time browsing the shelves of books so that we could use our very old postcards. This is the book I selected, Weird & Wonderful and it is just that.... and more.
I am intrigued by this book to say the least. What really sparked my interest is what is written on the bottom: Discoveries From The Mysterious World of Forgotten Children's Books. There are so many gorgeous & odd illustrations, these are just a few of my favorites. I highly recommend flipping through this if you are as interested in illustrations and children's books as I am. It's published by a small local publisher call Laughing Elephant Press (Green Tiger Press) out of Seattle that publishes some really sweet children's books. This is a cool find & a good read for sure.
My love of pop- books and carnivals has collided. Thanks to Deborah from the Kickcan & Conkers blog, who tweeted about this amazing book! Tina Kraus is a book illustrator/designer out of Germany who created this gorgeous carnival pop-up book called Circus Zingaro.
Pretty darn cool, huh? There is just so much to love about this book! -Paper inspiration at it's best. {images via here}
It's a holiday today where I live - Labor Day to be exact. It's rainy and quiet. While, I do plan on working in the studio for a bit, there is relaxed and easy feeling about today that I enjoy. Keren Ann will frequent my studio playlist so I thought I would share one of her videos that fits my mood. {image via here}
One of my favorite places to be is the beach - it clears my mind and calms me down. This video is visually beautiful - there are so many subtle details that I love. If you live where Labor Day is honored, I hope you are having a nice bonus day. Happy Music Monday!

I have been photographing, organizing, & uploading photos this weekend to update my website and Etsy shop with new goodies for Fall. This hasn't proven to be the quickest process but I do have a cute assistant to help me with the job. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!
